Given the fast-track nature of the project, there was a need for an easily applied and terminated waterproofing membrane for the pond lining work.

CANALOSEAL 4 PY-S geomembrane was selected for its numerous advantages: high thickness, robust and sturdy nature, heaviness, outstanding mechanical performance, resistance to environmental stress cracking, and minimal maintenance requirements compared to conventional low-thickness HDPE liners.
The high mechanical strength of CANALOSEAL 4 PY-S geomembrane effectively resisted pressure from the aggregate cover and distributed concentrated forces, preventing localized shear failure. The geomembrane was anchored at the beginning and end of the installation to ensure no water flowed underneath. The ease and speed of installation, coupled with its high resistance to wind uplift during installation, significantly reduced both installation time and costs. The installed CANALOSEAL 4 PY-S geomembrane prevented water loss and migration, conserving water and preventing damage and instability to the surrounding bed and banks.:
